Rabbi Menachem Moscovitz was born and bred in Brooklyn, New York, United States of America into a family of six. He has a twin brother and two younger siblings, a male and female. Menachem began his education at Yeshiva Tiferes Yisroel and went to the Rabbinical Seminary of America in New York. At a tender age, Menachem had fallen in love with the Jewish education and outreach and made up his mind to follow the path as his call in life. He acquired a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the Trident University, California.
He had work experience in the education world as he had the opportunity of working as a counselor in summer camp and also a mentor to students of high schools that are just created. Rabbi Moscovitz later got married and persisted in his pursuit of knowledge in advanced Talmudic studies by attending the Rabbinical Seminary of America. During this period, he served as a Talmud instructor at his former school, Yeshiva Tiferes Yisroel at classes held in the night.
As a man who enjoys learning new frontiers, he had a brief stint at various assisted living facilities in New York as a Kashruth Supervisor working hard to maintain their Kashruth integrity. As soon as he graduated from the Rabbinical Seminary of America, Rabbi Moscovitz took up an appointment as a fifth-grade teacher in Yeshiva Derech Hatorah in Brooklyn, New York. His responsibility was to ignite the burning passion for Torah knowledge in his students. He offered them a firsthand taste of Talmud which gave them the required tools for a more comprehensive study as they continue their education. Rabbi Moscovitz in the second position acted as an instructor in core subjects like Mathematics and English Language under the Title 1 Program helping groups of kids on their abilities. Menachem Moscovitz will later work as the Managing Director of Long Island Torah Network, an organization devoted to the Jewish inhabitants of the Nassau and Suffolk Counties in New York. He is in charge of development, public relations, execution of new programs and initiatives and imparting of the Torah knowledge.
In 2015, Rabbi Moscovitz got an amazing offer from the Las Vegas Kollel to be a part of their team. This rare opportunity offered him the chance to make an impact in a city where over 70,000 unaffiliated Jews reside. He accepted the incredible offer and relocated to Las Vegas where he handled details such as event planning and teaching.
In 2017, he was approached by two rabbis who wanted to start a new boys’ high school in Las Vegas to be their partner after he spent two fantastic years with the Kollel. Leaving the Kollel was not an easy decision, but he took the offer as the Executive Director of Mesivta of Las Vegas after confirming the approval of his colleagues at the Kollel and other members of his community.
The Mesivta started operations in August 2017 as Rabbi Moscovitz did an excellent job in ensuring its success. He has also spent several summers working as a Division Head in Camp Dora Golding in East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
He is a successful musician and guitarist and has entertained at different events such as wedding parties and also serves as a Chazzan/Cantor at Congregation Ahavas Yisroel in Flushing, New York for the High Holidays, a position he currently holds till date. Rabbi Mechanum Moscovitz is a skillful guitarist who has performed at various concerts and solo musical shows.
He is a lover of nature who fascinate the natural landscape and exceptional beauty of the American Southwest. His hobbies include taking his family on road trips to discover new places. He is passionate about serving the Las Vegas Jewish community in various capacities.
